NIGLON INVESTS £ 4M IN NEW HQ

Niglon has invested £ 4 million in a purpose-built new headquarters , laying the foundations for an ambitious growth plan that will see the company double its turnover within the next five years .
The West Midlands-based company had been based on an adjacent site to its new premises since 1993 when it purchased an office building to accommodate its 34-strong team , stockholding capabilities and product development workshop .
The new Niglon building on Cranmore Industrial Estate in Shirley has been customdesigned with efficiency and practicality in mind , with three times the storage capacity on the same footprint and a layout developed to deliver the company ’ s lean processes .
In addition to the streamlined layout that improves workflows for Niglon , the company ’ s new headquarters includes increased office space , improved meeting spaces and a showroom area for product demonstrations .
As part of the company ’ s improved stockholding facilities and processes , Niglon has invested in wire-guided pallet trucks to increase warehouse capacity at the new headquarters by enabling narrower aisles and higher racking . The company has also invested in a new stock picking and processing system , with a high level of automation to greatly improve efficiency .

NEW APP GIVES STIEBEL ELTRON CUSTOMERS A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Stiebel Eltron UK has unveiled a new Augmented Reality ( AR ) app , allowing installers and customers to see exactly how a product will look in their home or business .
The AR app can create a 3D model within any location , projecting a composite view through the user ’ s phone or tablet camera . This provides a detailed insight into the space required for a product and the visual impact it will have on installation .
Internal components are also generated , allowing users to move ‘ inside ’ the virtual product , providing a unique view of its inner workings without the need to open the casing of the unit .
The app was showcased to the UK market for the first time at Stiebel Eltron ’ s recent product roadshow , which consisted of five dates across the country , concluding at the UK headquarters in Wirral . More than 200 installers , developers and engineers were given details of new products including the WPL Classic air source heat pump and the HSBC integrated hot water heater and buffer cylinder .
