Now once the programme education objectives are defined for each and every
programme a set of programme outcomes are also defined and for each and every
course in addition to the programme education objectives and the programme
outcomes, for each and every course there is a course outcome. now the mapping
of the competences that I mentioned above regarding graduate attributes has to
start with the graduate attributes getting mapped to course outcomes, the course
outcomes in turn getting mapped to programme outcomes and this again mapped
to programme education objectives and the program education objectives getting
mapped with the department vision and mission and the institutes.
So in order that each and every activity that is concerned with teaching and learning
process is aimed at delivering or ensuring that students acquire a certain set of
competences. The present accreditation is called as outcome base accreditation or
students’ centric accreditation.
In this context the department and the institute is busily engaged in the preparation
of the document necessary for getting the accreditation and we require the cooperation from all the student community in order to complete the survey as well
as the course feedback forms in an appropriate manner.
What I mean by this is that for each and every mapping that I mentioned above,
there are a set of assessment tools that are employed and deployed that are
required to arrive at the accreditation and to demonstrate that we have a set of
processes to deliver what we are claiming. In this context the examinations that the
students undergo and the evaluation and their correlation form a component called
as direct assessment of accreditation. In order to gauge the competences that have
been acquired by the students a set of surveys or feedbacks are conducted. The
course feedback that each and every student has to fill is considered as one such
document as part of the accreditation process.
Now there are few questions that are been added and modified compared to the
previous feedbacks. So I want all of you to understand that for every course there
are a set of course outcomes which in turn or overall are expected to deliver or
demonstrate certain skill-sets to be developed by the students at the end of the
course.
