Our beautiful volcano of San Vicente de El Salvador
One of the most beautiful and impressive coastal chain volcanoes is the Chinchontepec or volcan of San Vicente, located in the confines of the Department of the same name. Its almost perfect cone, like pylon of sugar, topped in two peaks and this peculiarity refers its nahuat name "Cerro DOS tetas".
The Eastern Summit was called "volcano of Zacatecoluca", is the highest: 2,173 meters above sea level and has a well formed and conserved crater whose bottom at 1,990 m has a swamp in rainy season.
The Western top, lower at 2,083 m exhibits a crater open to the East.
