estudiante logre ciertas competencias.
ABSTRACT · At present, and as expressed by CONFEDI in 2006 [1], the use of competen-
cies as a training horizon is a worldwide trend in the design of engineering curricula. Faced
with this situation is that it seeks to improve the degree formation of the future engineer by
rethinking educational aspects so that the student achieves certain skills.
This paper describes activities developed by the teaching team of Probability and Sta-
tistics, belonging to the second year of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics careers of the
Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Entre Ríos. The aim is to address the con-
tent of Sensitivity and Specificity, insisting on the applicability of the Bayes’ rule, comparing
two teaching methodologies: a traditional one and another one based on the achievement
of competence: “Identify, formulate and solve problems of engineering”.
From this last and new proposed scenario, it is expected that the teacher’s work consists
in guiding and facilitating the tools so that the student can develop in his leading role of
acquisition and understanding of the contents.
