ocal artists and married couple Joe and
Lena Wolek’s contrasting work will be
on display for the Fall 2014
art show at the Santa Ana
Main Art Gallery.
Dancing and Dueling displays formally composed
photography alongside
installation art made from
recycled fabric. Joe Wolek
is also part of a five-person
show at the art gallery at
the Santora Building in
Downtown Santa Ana.
“Here you have these
really slick beautiful photographs that are only
made to be looked at, next
to pieces made from very
rough textiles and fabrics
that almost feel like they
had a life before,” Gallery
Director Phil Marquez said.

for the professional shows,
Marquez looks to pair
artists with a certain level
of creativity whose work
complement each other.
How the students react and
whether or not the artist is
well received also plays an
important role.
“I think the photography
is exquisitely done and
Lena is very clever in the
work that she does with
found objects and clothing,”
Marquez said.
The opening reception will take place on
Wednesday from 7 p.m. to
9:30 p.m. Gallery hours are
Monday through Thursday
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and
Wednesday 6:30 p.m. to
8:30 p.m.
The show ends Thursday,
Nov. 6.

Nickelodeon television star Ariana

with her debut album My Everything.
The hit list includes her single Problem
featuring summer sensation Iggy Azelea

While there’s a noticeable shift away
from the R&B style of her first album,
Yours Truly, her adopted electro pop
sound definitely does not disappoint.
