Christian Hernadez went
undefeated for the Dons winning
his matches against Rio Hondo, and
Mt. SAC. Dons lost to Rio Hondo
22-17 in the first round. The next
competition is at Palomar College
and starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday

SAC looks to get its season back on track for the second half with
better practice sessions and by utilizing all the talent on the team

The Dons women’s volleyball
team have an overall record
of 4-12. Freshman libero Ally
Wardlow has a total of 285 digs
for the season and is averaging
5.28 digs per set to go along
with 0.7 service aces per set.
Wardlow ranks first in those three
categories. “I think we need to
really focus and better ourselves
during practice,” said Wardlow.
The Dons are 1-7 in conference
and are looking to improve their
record as they start the second
round of conference games.

he Santa Ana College
football team has had a
rough start to the season.
After six games, their record
stands at two wins and four
losses. The Dons’ two wins
come against Antelope Valley
College and LA Southwest. They
currently stand in third place
in the Metro League (Southern
California Football Association)
standings. There are bright spots
to the Dons’ record. Cross Faletoi
is ranked third by the SCFA for
averaging 120 yards per game.
He is also ranked fi fth with six
touchdown passes.
The Dons’ other quarterback,
Luke Wilson, currently ranks
second in the Metro League
for the 11 touchdown passes
he’s thrown in just three games
this season. Dons wide receiver
Joshua Rice is ranked second
in yards per game with 94.5
and stands in fi rst place in
touchdown receptions with
eight. The Santa Ana defensive
unit isn’t far behind the rankings
of their off ensive stars.
Linebacker Kenny Phillips
has 41 tackles and two sacks in
six games. Defensive lineman
Giovanni Kizer has six sacks for
the Dons and is ranked fi rst in
the Metro league.
“There’s a lot of talent on this
team; we’ve had some setbacks,
mistakes on the fi eld, but our
goal is to clean it up and get
better,” said off ensive lineman
Joseph Medina.
With games against Chaff ey
Community College, the
Homecoming game against
Compton Community College,
and one against Glendale
College, the schedule is only
getting tougher for the Dons.
The Dons understand that it’s
going to take the team’s best
eff orts to turn the season around.

25 receptions for 376 yards and six
TDs in six games for the Dons.
Defensive lineman Michael Kizer
has 18 Tackles, four sacks and one
forced fumble.
Quarterback Christopher Garcia has
181 yards and four touchdowns in
three games for Santa Ana.
