8 LIFESTYLE SANTA ANA COLLEGE el Don/eldonnews.org • MONDAY, MARCH 13, 2017 NINTENDO HOOKS IT UP After the failure of the Wii U, Nintendo’s questionable future now seems promising. Nintendo’s newest gaming console, the Switch, was released early this month. The company’s previous console, the Wii U, cost Nintendo millions of dollars and disappointed gamers because they were unable to use it more than a few yards from home. The Switch is a multiplayer con- sole that can be played at home or on the road. Gamers have the option of using the Joy-Con, included with the console, or the Pro Controller, which is a more traditional-style controller. The battery life is estimated to be 2.5 to 6.5 hours and can even be charged with a standard USB Type-C phone charger cable. Santa Ana College students Wil- liam Delgado and Alberto Beltran were willing to consider buying the Switch even after the downfall of the Wii U. “I think Nintendo is going down the right path by making the Switch accessible at home and on- the-go,” Delgado said. “The Wii U was one disappoint- ment out of everything they have created,” Beltran said. Gamers are having some issues with the console, such as having the Joy-Con disconnect while the console is in dock mode, not being able to save their game while going from home to on-the- go, and even having the screen turn various solid colors, forcing them to do a hard reset to fix their console. Even with those issues, most of the buyers are happy with the new Nintendo Switch. — Mary Nguyen HOTLINE DOUBLE DROP COMEDY NEW LINK FINALE FUTURE and HNDRXX Freebandz Lower Classy Netflix Breath of the Wild Nintendo Logan 20th Century Fox Rapper Future, dropped his self-ti- tled album FUTURE on Feb. 17. Cristela Alonzo’s first-ever, live Netflix comedy special Lower Classy comically states her opinion regard- ing political news and the truth about growing up in a lower-class Mexican family. She does not hold back on how little thought President Trump has given to his plans to build a wall on the United States-Mexico border. “Doesn’t he know we use tunnels?” Alonzo’s humor makes for infectious comedy. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launched on the Wii U and Nin- tendo Switch March 3. The newest installment in the Legend of Zelda series wakes its hero, Link, from a 100-year slumber to solve puzzles, engage in strategic combat and ex- plore an expansive world that even veteran players may not expect. The game has already received critical acclaim, winning Best of Show at the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo. After 17 years of playing one of X-Men’s most beloved characters, Hugh Jackman finishes his final Wolverine movie with a thrilling performance in Logan. This isn’t the Wolverine audiences are used to seeing. Logan is based off writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven’s comic book, Old Man Logan. This film feels like the end of an era. Logan makes sure to show just how human mutants really are. It’s an apt wrap-up to a very deserving character. — Gloria Pintor — Tim Bravo — Joshua Reinis — Mark Vargas
