For the last two semesters, students and teachers in the A, C and D buildings needed to walk all the way across cam- pus for pre-packaged food and snacks. Students can now purchase food and drinks on the east side of campus. The store should remain open for business for the entire spring semester. —Nikki Nelsen Santa Ana College will require students and staff to carry an updated ID card. The new IDs will be necessary to access the library and the Academic Computing Center. The cards will also be needed in order to print at the center. Staff at the computing center hope that all students replace their old IDs with updated ones by the end of this semester. These IDs are now available at the Student Business Office, located at The Village in Room 205-B, open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. —Martha Ceja Students have just a few days left to petition for graduation. Thursday, March 23 is the final day to do so for the Spring 2017 semester. Students must meet the necessary requirements, which include the successful comple- tion of at least 60 degree units and a minimum 2.0 GPA. Petition forms are available at the Graduation Office located in the S Building. The proposal will raise the costs of tuition by $282 and fees by $54. Out-of-state undergraduate students can now expect to pay $40,644 per year and in-state graduates can expect $12,630 per year. With the new budget plan, the UC Board of Regents directly intends to address sig- nificant issues universities face such as enrollment growth for California residents, increasing faculty-to-student ratio, course availability and expanding stu- dent mental health services. In addition, one-third of all new tuition revenue will be set aside for UC financial aid pro- grams, which will increase the pool of available funds. —Carlos Duarte Karen Duprey [email protected] How to contact us El Don encourages the expres- sion of all views.
