Fans of the Mass Effect series of role-playing video games will have a whole new world to explore next year

Bioware blessed fans of the Mass Effect trilogy with a new trailer and offered more information about the next installment of the series , titled Mass Effect Andromeda .

Mass Effect Andromeda takes place 600 years after the events of the original games in the Andromeda Galaxy . Species from the Milky Way Galaxy , including humans , seek to explore and inhabit the hospitable worlds of the Helios Cluster . The game will follow Ryder , the playable character who is a participant of the Andromeda Initiative . Ryder becomes the Pathfinder for the Hyperion Ark : the Andromeda Initiative is a 600-yearlong one-way mission to travel to and explore the Andromeda Galaxy . Participants of the Andromeda Initiative travel in giant space ships

called arks in cryostasis and wake up near their destination . Each ark has a Pathfinder ; a group of people who have undergone special training for space exploration . The arks leave the Milky Way in 2185 , the year before its potential destruction by the Reapers , sentient robots set on destroying all sapient life in the Milky Way . Commander Shepard , the protagonist of the original series , who is the last hope for the Milky Way , either saved or left the fate of the galaxy to the Reapers in one of the four endings . Unfortunately , it does not seem that the fate of the Milky Way will be visited in the next installment . Fans are left with their own stories of the events after the end of Mass Effect 3 .

Mass Effect Andromeda will be released in Spring 2017 .

The Nintendo Entertainment System Mini went on sale nationwide on Nov . 11 . The throwback console features one rectangular Nintendo controller and 30 pre-programmed classic games like Mario Bros ., Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda . The console costs $ 59.99 and was almost immediately sold out at all local Targets and Best Buys . It is not known when they will be re-stocked .

The Rolling Stones are back with an old school sound on Blue & Lonesome . The English rock band will release its first studio album in over a decade with a 12-track record that includes cover songs by legendary artists like Howlin ’ Wolf . Two singles were released and are available on iTunes . Hate to See You Go , one of the new singles , is a mix of old school blues with a hip twist . The album will be available on Dec . 2 .

Super Mario Run will launch on Apple devices Dec . 15 . The application-based game is a take on the original Super Mario Bros . and features the same title characters running to save the princess , gathering coins and completing levels of challenges . A demo of the game is free but to unlock all of the content , users will have to pay $ 9.99 . Super Mario Run will be released for Android at a later date .

Premiering this Wednesday , Allied is a WW II spy film directed by Robert Zemeckis , who is best known for Back to the Future , Forrest Gump and Cast Away . The film is set in 1942 in North Africa and stars Brad Pitt as Canadian intelligence officer Max Vatan , and Marion Cotillard as French resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour . With an excellent cast , director and composer , the film looks like an unexpected success after attracting little attention from the media .
