STRAWBERRY FEST
MUSEUM EXHIBITION
Santa Ana College’s Dance
Department will host a
Studio Night Event May 31
at 7 p.m.
Students from various
dance classes will perform
choreographies that they
have been working on
throughout the semester.
Some of the dance performances were taught by professors, and include student
group collaborations, group
improvisations and individual choreographies.
The event will be at Phillips
Hall Theatre. Tickets for the
event will be sold at the door
for $3.

The 58th annual Strawberry
Festival is returning to Garden
Grove Friday, May 27 through
Monday, May 30 at 6 p.m. This
Friday, the city will offer free
slices of strawberry shortcake
to all who attend.
Other entertainment includes
a parade, live music, a 5K run,
karaoke contest and pre-parade breakfast on Saturday
morning for $7.
Special guests are Miss 2016
Garden Grove, Raena Ramirez,
well-known Olympic medalists
and actors.
The Festival raises funds for
the community and scholarships. It begins on Friday from 1
p.m. to 10 p.m. with $30 unlimited all-day rides. For more

California Bounty: Image and
Identity exhibit is coming to
the Bowers Museum June 11.
It will be open Tuesday
through Sunday from 10 a.m.
through 4 p.m. General admission is $13 on weekdays and
$15 on weekends.
On Sundays, the museum
offers free admission to
Santa Ana residents through
a donation in memory of
Dorothy Goerl, courtesy of the
Lockhart Family.

The theatre arts department’s first Motion Picture
Performance class will premiere four short films at the
Frida Cinema Friday, May 27.
Jessie’s All Right (drama),
Boy and Girl (drama), Mortals
(science fiction/horror) and
Boogey (horror) were written,
produced, directed and acted
by students from the class.
Led by professor Christopher
Glenn Cannon, the curriculum for the class reflects the
demands and expectations
of artists in the 21st century
entertainment industry.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m.
show are $10 for general
admission or $5 for students
with a valid school ID.

four films is available for view
on YouTube.
