The Associated Student
Government along with the
Circle K Club are sponsoring
a memorial paying tribute to
the lives lost during the 9/11
terrorists attacks.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the tragic terrorist
attacks that took thousands
of lives.
Flags were placed near the
fountain spelling the words
“United We Stand’’ and “Stay
Strong.’’ ASG started placing
the flags in 2011 to commemorate the 10-year anniversary.
They planned to do it that
one time but Minhchau Chau,
the former president of Circle
K, asked to continue.
The flags were sponsored by
ASG at the request of Circle K.
“It’s a huge part of our history and we should remember
it not just for 10 years or 50,
9/11 was a catalyst for a lot of
change in our life and nations,”
Chau said. -Laura Garcia
