INICIATIVAS QUE PUEDEN
IMITARSE Y MEJORARSE
INITIATIVES THAT CAN BE IMITATED AND IMPROVED
A pesar de la ardua y exigente
coyuntura que enfrentan hoy en
día los países de Latinoamérica,
existen ejemplos a lo largo y
ancho de la región que merecen
analizarse, puesto que demuestran
que, aunque en algunas
aseguradoras aún no prevalece
un enfoque estructurado para
identificar y gestionar riesgos
emergentes, sí hay casos puntuales
que confirman un entendimiento
cabal de éstos y un elevado nivel
de conciencia entre las posiciones
jerárquicas más altas para
alcanzar con determinación la
resiliencia organizacional.
De acuerdo con Luis Luviano
Hernández, varios países de la
región, como Panamá, Colombia,
Chile y Perú, han avanzado en el
diseño de estrategias corporativas
adecuadas que tienen como
pilar la administración integral
de riesgos. El colaborador
de RISK México añade que
tales metodologías se han
aplicado no sólo en el sector
asegurador, sino también en otros
eslabones productivos que son
indispensables para conseguir que
se cumpla el círculo virtuoso de la
economía.
“Podemos apreciar el ejemplo
de Panamá, país en el cual
durante los últimos años se
ha registrado un dinamismo
importante en materia de planes
de continuidad. Colombia cuenta
asimismo con un alto grado de
madurez en este ámbito, lo que le
permitió sobreponerse con mucha
habilidad a la crisis producida
por la COVID-19. Por otro
lado, México también es un caso
interesante que se debe evaluar,
puesto que en su sector financiero,
y como resultado de un marco
regulatorio exigente, se ha podido
cimentar una cultura corporativa
resistente, de manera que la
población económicamente activa
cuenta con los conocimientos para
trazar estrategias que optimicen
Despite the hard and
demanding situation that Latin
American countries face today,
there are examples throughout
the region that are worth being
analyzed, since they show that,
although in some insurance
companies a structured approach
to identify and manage emerging
risks has not been implemented
yet, there are specific cases
that confirm a thorough
understanding of such risks and
a high level of awareness among
the highest hierarchical positions
to purposefully achieve an
organizational resilience.
According to Luis Luviano
Hernández, several countries
of the region, such as Panama,
Colombia, Chile, and Peru,
have made progress in designing
adequate corporate strategies
that have comprehensive risk
management as the foundation.
The employee of RISK Mexico
adds that such methodologies
have been implemented not only
in the insurance sector but also
in other productive areas that are
essential for the virtuous circle of
the economy.
“A country that serves as an
example is Panama, where there
has been significant momentum
in the last few years regarding
business continuity plans.
Colombia also has a high degree
of maturity in this area, which
allowed it to overcome the crisis
caused by COVID-19 with great
skill. On the other hand, Mexico
is also an interesting case that
must be evaluated since in its
financial sector, and as a result
of a demanding regulatory
framework, a resilient corporate
culture has been built, so that
the working population has the
knowledge to create strategies
that optimize the decision-
