This newspaper is for those who upon hearing brief rumors of any event, want to know exactly what occurred; for those who wish to express their opinion; and those who would not normally pick up a newspaper or a magazine. We want this publication to be a place to discredit myths and find truths, to encounter stories that challenge your perspective, and to amuse yourself with alluring cartoons. The staff of this new journal promises to always bring you articles that are entertaining, informative, and above all honest. You could be asking yourself, why El ciento-siete? The reason is sim- ple: because this project was born inside Ms. Maiz’s room, A107. Yet this name doesn’t stand for exclusivity, on the contrary, it represents all other ideas that begin as a dream and come into fruition inside the walls of our beloved school. It represents the endless possibilities that can sprout from minds coming together to innovate and inspire others. Everyone is welcome in A107, as everyone will be welcome in El ciento-siete. Therefore don’t hesitate to let us know if you’re interest- ed in writing for our paper or give insight into new and interesting topics that you would like to see in future editions. We hope you enjoy reading this first issue as much as we enjoyed creating it.
