Sports has always been a passion of mine.
Whether it was Professional, College or High School, if there was an athletic
event taking place I wanted to watch it. I felt as though I needed to watch it.
However, sports on the high school level seem to me the purest form of athletic
competition. That is sport before it becomes tainted by any type of reward,
other than the satisfaction and exhilaration of competition for the sake of competition.
High School athletics awakens a sense of community pride and involvement that few other activities can match. Legends are born on the high school fields and courts of competition. Individual athletes gain a sense of belonging during a time when fitting seems harder and harder to do.
