THE TWO WHITE DUCKS
It was a day in June,
As I sat alone on the bench.
I saw two white ducks,
Standing together by the lake.
They stood together in silence,
Basking in each others company,
And if one looked closer,
Even their reflections in the water,
Blended together!
To some such a scene,
Might not mean much.
Yet, as I starred at the ducks,
To me it meant the world.
While I sat alone on the bench,
The view of the ducks together,
Made my loneliness more stark,
More poignant than ever before.
That I had no one,
Whose reflection with me in the water,
Blended together!
Thus on that day in June,
I resolved another to find,
Who will stand with me by the lake,
Silent as we bask in each others company,
And enjoy our reflections in the water,
Blended together!
