minute by minute. I’m setting the dial of my heart on His channel rather than listening to the racket of all the loud voices shouting for my attention. Recently, I was snared by these powerful words from Psalm 4:1 (TPT), that I have put to memory by receiving them into my heart. I’m writing these verses in present tense-
“God, you are my righteousness, my champion defender. Answer me when I cry for help! Whenever I am in distress, you enlarge me. I’m being squeezed again-I need your kindness right away! Grant me, your grace, hear my prayer, and set me free!"
The words, “Whenever I am in distress, you enlarge me,” have changed my life. I’m receiving these and the other words and appropriating them to my daily walk. And take a look with me at verse 3, "May we never forget that the Lord works wonders for every one of his devoted lovers. And this is how I know that He will answer my every prayer." These words when received, a heart revelation is alive to transform us!
Would you join me in this prayer in asking the Father to open up our receiver, and create in us a hunger for receiving from Him that won’t be satisfied by anything else?
Loving Father, forgive me for living life separate from you. Forgive me for creating my own path of self-protection and self-righteousness, for choosing to live by the law rather than the Spirit. Forgive me for going my own way and following after corrupt thinking and believing. Forgive me for allowing my receiving from you to not matter and become weak and lifeless. I realize that without you I am lost. I receive your forgiveness and declare it is a new day, a new beginning! I receive and welcome the light of your truth to penetrate my darkness. Give me the courage to daily choose to receive from you. This day Jesus, I receive your life in abundance, for you came so that I might have it!
