Sin works against that. God continues to deal within us those things that are not of Christ.

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit reveals to us the holiness of Christ, and in the light of the holiness of Christ, we are made to see the deep unholiness of our own lives. He does this by invading our spirit and imparting the grace and disposition of Christ deep within us. In this invasion the deep center of our life will flow outward. Our behavior, morals, personalities change by and for the will of God. This is being conformed to the image of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30). Sanctification is conforming to the image of Christ. The Holy Spirit is making us partakers of His holiness; to glorify Jesus within us. We have entered into a place of undeserved privilege. He did not deserve the grace that was given to us. It was bought for a price, by His blood.
