Pentecost!

Fifty days after the First Fruits Feast (barley), the Jews were commanded to present a new grain offering. During the Feast of Weeks, the first fruits of the wheat harvest was brought before to the Lord baked with leaven (Leviticus 23:16-17). This time of celebration is called the Shavuot, which means “weeks” in Hebrew. The Feast of Weeks is a foreshadow of the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Fifty days (Pentecost) after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, He sent His Holy Spirit as He previously spoke (John 14:16-17) to indwell the disciples and empower them to minister the Gospel to all the world. Like tongues of fire, the infilling of the Holy Spirit was upon the “firstfruits" of His church, thus speaking of other languages was heard (Acts 2:1-13).
