EIB Test April 2008 | Page 6

About the EIB Magazine The EIB magazine was conceived during our Business Writing and Computing class at the beginning of July 2002. During a discussion of the various project assignments for the summer term, and their application in the real world, we realized that it would be fulfilling to collect our classroom experiences into a memorabilia portfolio that could be shared with friends, teachers, and even future employers. With this purpose in mind, we decided on a business magazine format that all our readers could enjoy. The magazine was put together keeping in mind concepts of leadership and teamwork that were central to the success of all our projects this term. My first team decided on the name “EIB Tomorrow” because of their “look ahead” approach to business, and the anticipation of what the future holds. The second issue came out as “Enterprising Intelligent Businesspeople” to symbolize the positive energy and enthusiasm the group shared as a class. What you have in your hands is yet another issue of this unique endeavor indicating the hard work, spirit, and commitment that the this group of students brought into the class. The EIB Magazine has multiple sections that cover the most significant projects created by our EIB team. Each project begins with an introduction for the readers explaining the process of the assignment, its contents, and what we learned. The magazine cover and the contents table is our interpretation of how these projects translate into real life, and how they help us understand American Business and the use of English for global business communication. I cannot express the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the EIB team to create this magazine with the time and energy that they could afford in their ten weeks here. Welcome to the latest issue of the EIB Magazine. Enjoy reading! -Tarana Patel
