MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT
The curriculum of the Mathematics Department supports the mission of Enfield High School and
provides all students the opportunity to complete rigorous math courses. Our department
provides instruction that focuses on the development of responsible individuals who strive to
become lifelong learners. Embedded in our Mathematics curricula are lessons that teach
students to:
• Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them
• Reason abstractly and quantitatively
• Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others
• Model with mathematics
• Use appropriate tools strategically
• Attend to precision
• Look for and make use of structure
• Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning
