(5012) CCP Prerequisite(s): None This course offers the same content as course 5011. It is college preparatory and appropriate for students entering ninth grade. Course Title: Grade(s) in which students may take the course and the number of credits. Prerequisites: These are courses or other conditions, such as minimum grades earned in prior courses, which must be met before students can take the course. Course Description: This section describes the focus of the course. GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING Each student is assigned to a school counselor. The high school counselor will work with the student throughout his/her high school career. The Guidance Department offers an appropriate Comprehensive Developmental School Counseling Program. School counselors offer assistance to students in areas such as: • • • • • Development of an individualized Student Success Plan (SSP) Self-evaluation in terms of abilities, interests, and aptitudes Selection of courses and studies Post-secondary planning including college, vocational, and military options Personal issues Parents and students are encouraged to work collaboratively with the school counselor.
