PIANO CLASS Grades 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 . 5 credit ( 5675 ) CCP
Prerequisites : None This class is designed for the student with little or no previous piano experience . Students learn basic piano techniques and music reading skills in group lab settings and individualized study . A variety of piano literature , written at appropriate performance grade level , is studied and the basics of music theory , lead sheet interpretation and music terminology are presented .
GUITAR CLASS Grades 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 . 5 credit ( 5676 ) CCP

Students learn basic guitar techniques and music reading skills in group lab settings and individualized study . A variety of guitar literature , written at appropriate performance grade level , is studied and the basics of music theory , lead sheet interpretation and music terminology are presented .
DRAMA Grades 9 – 12 . 5 credit ( 5677 ) CCP
Prerequisites : None This course provides students with the opportunity to develop an appreciation and respect for the craft of acting as well as for the collaborative efforts of all involved in producing works of theater / film . Attention is also given to the development of personal and interpersonal skills through dramatic activities including improvisation , monologues and scene work . Various class projects will help students learn about set , costume , lighting design , and theater history , as well as the elements of basic playwriting .
MUSICAL THEATER Grades 9 – 12 . 5 credit ( 5678 ) CCP

Prerequisites : None This course focuses on developing students ’ singing / acting / movement skills in a variety of musical theater performing styles and is designed to enhance artistic and creative talents . Students will learn to use their own personal voice type to sing different kinds of songs , while analyzing lyrics and character in order to better communicate a story through vocal and physical expression . They will also learn about musical theater history , from ancient Greek theater to present-day Broadway . This class will help students overcome stage fright and build confidence with in-class solo and small ensemble performances .
