by Kelly Gray Merritt
MIDDLE OF THE CINNAMON ROLL TOAST . RADICCHIO SALAD WITH RICOTTA AND CRANBERRY DRESSING . PICKLED RED ONIONS . MILK BAR BIRTHDAY CAKE TRUFFLES .
Scrolling through Justine Doiron ’ s website and social media is enough to make anyone make a mad dash to the supermarket .
Her recipes may have started as the culinary brainchild of the Covid quarantine , but they ’ ve proven to have a lasting shelf life . Doiron ’ s impact within the food-centric community skyrocketed from a few viewers to millions of thousands . Her recipes on her website Justinesnacks . com , Instagram , TikTok and Pinterest accounts serve as mouthwatering food goals .
Her food blogging platform began in April of 2020 and today , foodies seek out Doiron ’ s posts for dependable cooking video instruction , ingredient education and inspiration .
“ I actually went to school for hospitality , which has a culinary component , but I was so intimidated by my peers that I never pursued cooking until the pandemic ,” says Doiron , who worked in public relations before embarking on content creation full-time . “ I gave myself six months to make it work and personally I give thanks to Garden of Life , since a lot of opportunities have opened up because of that partnership .”
Doiron was already a fan of the Garden of Life protein powders and had a long relationship with the brand before working together , which connected her to products new to her . Doiron has recently begun incorporating CBD into her supplements , along with her long-time use of Garden of Life ’ s mykind Organics multivitamins , Dr . Formulated Probiotics and products for healthful hair , skin and nails .
“ I also drink a gallon of water a day and that ’ s arguably the most inconvenient part of my personality , but it makes digestion better and skin clearer . On my off days when traveling and I don ’ t get that much water , I can feel it ,” says Doiron . “ I add Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein powder to my oatmeal , one of my signatures , along with small swaps like baking with protein powder .”
Most recently she prepared morning glory muffins and pumpkin pancakes using protein powder , integrating it with half protein powder and half flour , or oat flour .
Doiron is the first to share that her relationship with food wasn ’ t always a positive one and her past struggles with an eating disorder shape the compassion and educational component of her content . Sharing healthy , feel-good recipes is a departure from the dark times so many sufferers endure when faced with disordered eating .
“ That is my guiding light for how I approach food and wellness , for which I am always advocating ,” says Doiron . “ How food makes you feel and never how it makes you look is important , because the opposite does more harm than good .”
Doiron found a way to parlay these elements into the common bond between food and wellness . The result ? Doiron is helping people ‘ make food fun again ’.
