BWIN.PARTY’S REVAMPED
PARTYPOKER GOES LIVE
Operator’s redesigned poker product goes live on desktop and mobile
Bwin.party’s revamped PartyPoker product
is now live, as the operator looks to turn
around its fortunes following a series of
disappointing ?nancial results.
The much anticipated poker offering
has been in the making for more than a
year, ever since bwin.party announced its
intentions to merge bwin and PartyPoker
in an attempt to reverse the vertical’s
declining performance.
The redesign has seen bwin.party add
a brand new landing page, new logo and
a 1-Click lobby which it claims is “unique
to PartyPoker.com”. The offering also
includes a range of social features, such
as missions and achievements, which the
company said marked “a signi?cant ?rst
step in the integration of social features
into the real money gaming environment”.
The new version of PartyPoker is
currently available on both Mac and PC
desktop versions, and also as a mobile app
on Android and iOS devices for cash games
only with the launch of tournaments
planned for mobile in the near future.
The launch of the product has also
been supported by a new TV advertising
campaign which comes with the tagline
‘the game is changing’.
In August, the company reported that
poker revenues had fallen 35% during the
?rst half of 2013 but claimed the relaunch
would allow it to grab back market share
from the likes of 888poker.
In June, PartyPoker was overtaken by
888 in the PokerScout rankings for the
?rst time with the pair now positioned
?fth and fourth respectively.
According to a recent eGaming Review
poll, a signi?cant proportion of readers
believe the revamped product offering
may have come too late.
BETFRED.COM SPINS OFF
MOBILE DEVELOPMENT ARM
Manchester-based agency Degree 53 will supply mobile apps to companies
British operator Betfred.com has spun off
its mobile business in a move which will
see the newly formed agency act as a
third party mobile app developer to both
gambling and non-gambling clients.
Degree 53 is headed up by Betfred.com’s
former head of mobile, Andy Daniels, and
has already won several clients including
a large sportsbook affiliate for which it has
developed a horseracing results app for
iOS and Android devices.
Daniels con?rmed the company was in
talks with a non-UK sportsbook operator
to produce a mobile site but would not
work with sports betting ?rms in markets
