[E D I T O R ' S LETTER ] Another Power 50 over – and by far our best yet. The quality of the delegates eGR managed to attract made it an unparallelled egaming event. You only have to look at who was there: six CEOs from our 2011 top 10 most powerful operators; the top execs from the world’s largest suppliers; with Nevada, New Jersey and California all racing to regulate ?rst we had some of the biggest names from the US; as well as the biggest social gaming studios including Zynga, Facebook and Blitzoo, proof in the latter case, if any were needed, that social and online worlds are colliding at a faster rate than many could have predicted. Watch this space as eGR reports more on social gaming in the coming months. Eight years ago this event ?rst made its debut as the Power 25 lunch in one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants and guess who was there? Calvin Ayre himself, or as he was known back then, Cole Turner. What a difference a year, let alone eight years, makes. Today, it’s a different story and the Power 50 has grown to become the most exclusive club in the industry. If you didn’t receive an invitation this year then you have 12 months in which to climb the ladder and aspire to be among the best, but if you do receive a gold envelope through the post in 2013 then we look forward to welcoming you to the egaming elite. Also, don’t forget to tune into the series of six webinars we are doing in conjunction with GTECH G2 in preparation for the opening of the US market. The ?rst, entitled ‘Why go online, what is the potential of the US market?’ was streamed in the middle of last month and can be found on GTECH G2’s homepage, while the second webinar will be announced shortly. eGaming Review is published monthly by Pageant Media, 1 East Poultry Avenue London, EC1A 9PT ISSN 1742-2450 Printed by The Manson Group © 2012 all rights reserved.
