INETRACTIVE POKER Average online poker player numbers fell 4.9% sequentially in April to 91,700, with fewer days than March, and total player volumes were down 7.9%. This is against a 0.4% increase in average real-money player volumes in the same period last year, though it should be noted with Easter falling in April 2012, rather than March this year, the relative performance is fairly similar. However, despite onshore regulation, the longer-term trend continues to be downward, with yearon-year real-money player volumes down 12.8%. H2’s provisional assessment of interactive poker’s gross win for April 2013 came in at €229m. This is down 11.7% year-on-year and 9.0% sequentially as there continues to be a slight shift downward in stake levels. As of 30 April, the H2 Interactive Poker Player Volume Index was at 3,216, which is 8.2% lower than at the end of March, although this was over the Easter holiday weekend. The index’s average for the month at 3,391 was down 4.8% sequentially.
