[P R O D U C T O Latest odds Paddy Power's mobile app REVIEW ] WHAT THE PLAYERS SAY From a player perspective, what are your initial thoughts? Player 1: Great to have all Euro 2012 tournament information and the facility to bet all in one place. Prefer the Betfair app visually. Player 2: I thought both apps were strong, although it’s a shame more companies weren’t able to offer applications for the tournament. Player 3: I was surprised that these are seemingly the only bookmakers to have apps specific to this tournament, but I think they have both done a good job. 1 the match previews on Betfair’s app. O Trivia Paddy's useful stadiums tab The content was randomised and updated every day during the Euro 2012 tournament It may sound somewhat gimmicky but the technology is genuinely impressive; apparently the ?rst time any UK currency has been used for augmented reality purposes. What’s more, once the animated Queen has said her piece, the app then directs the user straight to the Paddy Power mobile site, and to the day’s relevant bets. The content was randomised and updated every day during the Euro 2012 tournament, and drew plenty of attention from punters along the way. Player 1: Very easy to navigate between all the elements of each app, it’s not fiddly at all so I am more likely to bet on the go. I also really liked Betfair’s news and views section. Player 2: Betfair’s tips were very helpful as I’m a first time mobile betting user, but I preferred the experience with Paddy Power. Player 3:The instant visibility of odds on the Paddy Power app is very attractive, as is the accessibility of promotions specific to the day’s games. I also like the comprehensiveness of 2 What works well? Player 1: Paddy Power’s app could replace the stadium info tab for more betting-related content. Player 2: Betfair’s app is really clean and was easier to navigate, whereas Paddys felt more cluttered. If they lost a few elements and made it easier to place a bet it would improve things significantly. Player 3: More Euro 2012-specific options on the promotions tab on Paddys’ app. You don’t download a Euro 2012 app to bet on golf when a separate Paddy Power app is available. 3 What could be improved? Player 1: Links to highlights of the latest games would be a fantastic feature. Player 2: Being able to listen to commentary or get live text updates on the game would be really useful but I’m assuming the technology isn’t there to do that. Hopefully in future we will see that come through. Player 3: Live streaming would enhance the apps a lot. Also the Betfair app could do with having certain odds visible as soon as you open the app. 4 What is missing?
