Nevertheless, the game’s social features are, by and large, very impressive. The live feed and leaderboards make it easy to see, comment on, copy or challenge other players’ bets. BetDash rewards users who successfully challenge a bet with a sizeable amount of virtual money, as well as a satisfyingly large noti?cation ?rst time round. The game also frequently offers free bets and bonus currency, called ‘boosters’, which act as an additional incentive to carry on betting. BetDash even gives a ‘Milk Carton Award’, providing more virtual money or extra playing time, simply for uploading a pro?le picture as well as achieving other landmarks during your £1m challenge. Both successful and unsuccessful betting runs are acknowledged with prizes such as the ‘Winner Winner Chicken Dinner Award’ for winning a certain number of times, or the ‘Jammy Dodger Award’ for bets with cumulative odds over 25-1. As part of the game’s novel 10-day time limit, a large clock at the top of the screen counts down the remaining time left to become a virtual millionaire, which can lead to exciting last-minute in-play betting as you watch the ?nal seconds tick by. However, the ability to ‘laugh’ at others’ bets is the one disappointment out of the social elements.

hen BetDash launched in November, after more than a year in beta, its cofounder Justin Goldman promised players “a unique game design” and an “incredibly social gaming environment”.
