? Probability narrows losses
Mobile specialist Probability has almost entirely eliminated its losses, the AIM-listed operator revealed in its interim results for the six months ended 30 September. A pre-tax loss of £65,000 is 91% lower than the corresponding period in 2010, with the company enjoying a 41% YoY increase in NGR to £3,271,000. Meanwhile, cash deposits from customers rose 74% YoY, with increased smartphone usage in the company’s active markets seeing iPhone and Android devices account for 50% of the business, up from 37% at the start of the six-month period.

The period also saw Sportingbet dispose of its Turkish business Superbahis to the GVC-backed East Pioneer Corporation, and James Hollins, analyst with Evolution securities, suggests that the company’s strategy of “cleaning up its revenue base...will drive short-term negative tax implications (as re?ected in the current share price) but deliver higher quality earnings from an already high-quality product, trading team and senior management.”
Australia has helped Sportingbet record an overall year-on-year increase in amounts wagered of 35%, the operator revealed in its results for the three months ending 31 October. The ?rst-quarter ?gures, which take into account two months worth of Centrebet since the purchase of the Northern Territory licensed bookmaker in August, were highlighted by a 95% year-on-year increase in Australian amounts wagered.

? Kambi moves into Asia
AsianLogic Group has become the first Asian-facing client of Unibet’s B2B subsidiary Kambi Sports Solutions. The company has signed a twoyear deal to take delivery of Kambi’s pool betting products, Supertoto and Superscore for its flagship Dafabet brand, whose sportsbook will continue to be supplied by OneWorks. Kambi is currently in discussions with 12Bet, acquired by Asian Logic in November 2010, to supply the same pool betting solution, with Kambi CEO Kristian Nylen admitting he is “very hopeful” that the deal will go through if the Dafabet launch is successful.
£59.9m for the period, while net gaming revenue (NGR) in Australia rose 58% on a like-for-like basis, and taking into account Centrebet's £9.1m contribution during the quarter, the year-on-year NGR growth for the region across the threemonth period stands at 165%. Consequently, Australia has overtaken Europe in its contribution to total amounts wagered with Sportingbet: of the £693.7m in total amounts wagered, £398.8m stemmed from Australian sports betting (up from £204.2m in Q1 2010) with £281.5m coming from sports betting in Europe.

Betfair has agreed a deal to sponsor the matchday shirts of Cypriot First Division team Apollon Limassol. The deal, an extension of the operator’s relationship with the club, will last until the end of the 2011-12 season with an option to extend it for a further year. Betfair’s agreement with the club also covers branding within its Tsiron Stadium and club website, while Apollon players and staff may be asked by the betting exchange to appear in its marketing material and promotions.
