Unibet.fr goes live Unibet
has been awarded licences by French regulator ARJEL for horse betting, sports betting and poker, paving the way for the firm to relaunch in France, but this time in a regulated market. Following its acquisition of Eurosportbet owner Solfive for an initial consideration of £4.8m in November, Unibet had to reapply for its French licences. It will lose the use of the Eurosportbet and Eurosportpoker brands following a transition period, which ends 1 January. Both sites will be rebranded Unibet.fr, and players trying to access the Eurosport sites will be redirected to Unibet for a year.

POKERSTARS LAUNCHES FIRST MOBILE POKER CLIENT
? World’s largest poker site launches mobile poker client on Italian app Store
Founded in 2000, Cecure Gaming previously operated its own gaming brand, Aces Royal, as well as other mobile brands such as the World Poker Tour mobile and Ladbrokes Poker Million mobile. Only Italian players with a registered iTunes account, veri?ed with a credit card and a valid Italian postal address as well as an Italian PokerStars account will be able to access the app.

...while Intralot exits French market ARJEL heeded Intralot’s
request to repeal its sports betting licence, seeing the Greek operator pull out of the market. After being awarded a five-year sports betting licence last year with an option for an extension, Intralot said it would apply for poker and horse betting licences, but further French licences never materialised. The firm saw a 70.7% year-on-year drop in earnings before tax for the nine months to 30 September, with gross EU profits down 23.9%.
PokerStars has launched its ?rst ever mobile poker client on the Italian app Store. The multi-player, cash and tournament application, initially for play money only, was launched last month in Italy with local players able to download it for free from the country’s iTunes store.
