F E A T U R E I N N O V A T I O N A WA R D S A CELEBRATION OF INNOVATION T he inaugural eGaming Review Operator Innovation Awards were held on the afternoon of 6 June at the Pavilion in the Tower of London, and one nominee dominated the proceedings. Paddy Power took home seven of the 17 awards on offer, including three mobile gongs. The prestigious Innovation of the Year award went to Paddys’ iPadoptimised Roller Casino, with project manager Jamie Reeve given the individual Innovator of the Year Title. Roller was described by the judges as “game changing”, with Paddy Power praised for having “taken a step back to look at how to utilise the desktop experience”. William Hill was the only other operator given a mobile-speci?c award, with the London-listed ?rm recognised for its innovation in mobile marketing. This was one of two awards given to the Gibraltar licensee, as the company also picked up the gong for innovation in live casino. The only other double award-winner, Gamesys, took home the titles for innovation in slots and innovation in bingo, with the judging panel making particular reference to the launch of its Bingo Friendzy and Slots Friendzy realmoney offerings on Facebook last year. The remaining awards were split between established operators such as Betfair, and newer players like Plumbee.
