ROBBIE WILLIAMS FUN POKER
The most high pro?le reviewer in eGR history has to be Lib Dem MP, Tessa Munt, apparently calling “Robbie Williams Fun Poker”, the funpoker site “awful”. Not part of our official panel, we’ll let you decide if you think the MP has her ?nger on the pulse. A new poker site in beta, Robbie Williams Fun Poker is exactly what is says; a play-forfun poker site branded by the former Take That singer. You can buy in-game items so, like any social game, it’s free if you want it to be. It cannot be said that the site is not Robbie branded. The RWFP default avatar is a Robbie lookalike in a dressing gown. If that’s not enough, each table is named after one of his songs, although playing

“Come Undone” is not the most positive experience when you have lost a big hand. Social mix RWFP’s main gameplay is identical to fun poker on many other sites and platforms. The core gaming area has a number of tables with different levels of buy-in and stakes. Tournament play is also available and normal Texas Hold-Em rules apply. You get the dressing gown Robbie avatar to represent you at the table, which seats nine people. So, how is RWFP different from a standard poker skin? RWFP has a social element that allows you to build up experience (XP) and gold to unlock or buy in-games extras in the shop, which, in turn, sells items to improve your avatar including tattoos and torsos – so you can be your very own Robbie. You collect more XPs and gold by completing “missions”. These are linked to your progress in the game and, as you increase XPs, you will also gain levels unlocking more missions and items in the shop. Even if you are not a big Robbie fan, the experience is interesting, if anything else, simply out of curiosity. If you are a fan then it will not disappoint. The chatrooms are awash with people having or wanting to play poker with Robbie. Fans will be delighted with the RW experience, which is all consuming. The poker skin does its job and the reviewers were happy with it. Experienced poker players found the social aspects got in the way, while non-fans thought it was "cheesy". However, there seemed to be a lot more female players than normal
