The next time they visited , she followed them down the hall and into their friend ’ s room . “ Are you Mr . & Mrs . Sullivan ?” she asked . When they confirmed who they were , she smiled and said “ I was not sure if you would recognize me . I am Sibrena Scott . Your

daughter ’ s scholarship helped me get through nursing school .”

They talked to her about her job there in the ICU and were so impressed . “ It was so heart-warming to see her at work in such a difficult area of the hospital ,” said Jeanette Sullivan . “ She was so warm and caring , really tending to the end-of-life issues our friend and her family were facing .”

They saw Sibrena each time they visited until their friend passed away . “ It was very emotional for us ,” added Frank . “ Knowing that our recipient was there and had made a difference in the lives of our dear friend and her family touched us deeply . The family thought so much of her , and just knowing the connection with us , well , it was satisfying to know that we had played a part in making that care happen .”
