WHEN FRANK AND JEANETTE
Sullivan lost their daughter at only 17 , they were devastated . Friends came together to create a scholarship in her memory that touched the lives of many students over the years .
“ We were always so pleased to know the scholarship was there and was meeting a need ,” said Frank Sullivan . “ We would get a simple thank you note from a recipient letting us know how much it meant to them . The change we have seen at the Foundation , allowing donors to meet their recipients , has been such a special opportunity .”
In 2020 , the Sullivans did just that , attending the EFSC Foundation reception , getting to meet their recipient for the first time . A nursing student , Sibrena Scott was extremely grateful for the assistance , sharing with them that the funds would allow her to keep focused on her studies without having to juggle both school and a job . She chatted with them and shared about her career aspirations .
A couple of years later , Frank and Jeanette happened to be visiting a friend who had been hospitalized in the ICU at Wuesthoff Steward Memorial in Rockledge . As they left , a young nurse smiled and walked down the hall past them .
