Assisting students could assist local dentists who came to volunteer their time by providing dental health cleanings and screenings for children in need between the ages of 5 and 12 .
“ I am very thankful for Mr . and Mrs . Spearman and their scholarship ,” said Luis Cabrera , second-year student in the EFSC Dental Hygiene program . “ The scholarship has allowed me to focus on my patients , their treatments and doing well academically , rather than having to work full-time and trying to juggle so much .”
“ I heard about the scholarship the minute I got accepted to the program ,” added Simone Scott , a first-year student in the program . “ I am so grateful that there are people like the Spearmans who care so much about student success . It has really made a difference for me .”
