About Dr . Randy Fletcher

Dr . Fletcher has an exceptional record of leadership and achievement during nearly 25 years in higher education . He earned his Bachelor ’ s Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University , a Master ’ s Degree in Communication from Illinois State University , a Master ’ s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign , and a Doctorate in Higher Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign .

EFSC ’ S NEW VICE PRESIDENT keeps students as his number one priority . We had a chance to sit with him to ask a few questions about recent changes in the areas of academics and student services and the college ’ s renewed focus on student success .
Dr . Fletcher , thank you for taking the time to share a little about your vision and the changes being made at EFSC . We understand that the college has reorganized two major areas for the Fall Term .
Yes , that is correct . The plan involves more strongly connecting the Academic and Student Affairs departments , focusing efforts on a more college-wide approach rather than on four separate campuses . This has long been Dr . Richey ’ s vison – we are one college with four campuses .
We know that you most recently came from Joliet Junior College in Illinois . Was this direction something you helped develop there , or have you seen it be successful at other colleges or universities ?
