EFSC Foundation Announces Gift from

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR BREVARD

THE EASTERN FLORIDA State College Foundation has received a $ 4,982 grant through the Community Foundation for Brevard . The funds will be used to purchase a new X-ray machine and disposable supplies to use with digital radiographs for student education and patient treatment . The items benefit the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting Programs .
Each year the Community Foundation for Brevard offers a competitive grant application cycle with the intent on strengthening the nonprofit community . They develop partnerships in the community to match philanthropists to nonprofits with missions that align with their charitable interests .
This is not the first time the EFSC Foundation has been awarded . Previous awards have funded dental chairs for the Dental Hygiene program and provided support for a new Mechatronics program at the College . “ We are so grateful for the support we receive from the Community Foundation for Brevard each year . We work with our program directors at the College to come up with needs that fit into their grant criteria and we have been very fortunate to be selected each time ,” said Cindy Kane , Executive Director , EFSC Foundation .
This year ’ s grant was provided thanks to the generosity of two donors , the Barbara Wells Family Foundation and the Community Foundation for Brevard .
“ Oral health is essential to overall health ,” said Theresa Grimison , Community Foundation of Brevard President & CEO . “ The grant not only provides equipment integral to the dental hygiene and dental assisting student ’ s experiential learning , it will also deliver resources for preventative care and minor restorative services to Brevard County residents who otherwise may not be able to receive vital care .”
