Hedgecock Family Builds EFSC Tradition

ASK THE HEDGECOCK FAMILY where their career aspirations began and they will tell you – Eastern Florida State College !
“ Everyone has heard the phrase ‘ college isn ’ t for everyone ’,” said Mark Hedgecock . “ However , EFSC has something for everyone – valuable diversity in programming from a traditional track to a multitude of vocational programs to help all students choose their path . I believe this model makes it “ college is for everyone !”
That mindset formed in the fall of 1968 when he graduated from Satellite High School and accepted an offer to play baseball at then Brevard Junior College .
“ I am grateful for the education I received at BJC and the time there ,” added Hedegcock . “ I had time to grow as an adult and as a baseball player . By the time I arrived at the University of Florida , I was clearly focused on my goals .”
Mark majored in Physical Education and returned to Brevard County where he would teach physical education and coach baseball for 39 years in the Brevard Public School system .
That foundation was shared with younger brother , Randy .
