Page 2 Foundation Newsletter Alumni Update Brevard Local and Eastern Florida State College Graduate on Survivor! A shley Nolan, 26, an EFSC student who played volleyball in 2009-2010, auditioned for Survivor. She is a Lifeguard Captain/EMT for the Brevard County Ocean Rescue and now a competitor on the popular TV reality show. According to Space Coast Daily, Nolan was selected as part of the “Heroes” Tribe. The location is considered one of the most beautiful places on earth—Fiji. This is the first time the tribes have been divided based on the most positive traits often attributed to them by others. Heroes are heralded for their courage, their achievements and ideals for which they stand. Nolan states, “Being a lifeguard, when you run in the water to save someone’s life your adrenaline is going, your heart is pumping...but out here it’s either sink, swim or get out of the ocean. For the first time in my life, I’ve got to let people sink, and I’m not going to take any mercy.” Ashley appears in season 35, titled Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, which airs on CBS September 27 Don’t forget to tune in on September 27 and look for information on an EFSC viewing party! T Father and sons graduate together! he stars aligned as three members of the Monteferrante family celebrated this milestone with family and friends by graduating on the same day! Thomas’ journey began nine years ago as he began slowly working on his degree while caring for the needs of his family and working a full time job. One can only imagine the pride both Chris and Nick felt as they saw their father walk across the platform to receive his degree. The father and sons captured this memorable milestone with a picture. Chris and Nick will be heading off to the University of South Florida.
