ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT : CLASS OF 2011 BCC
Daniel Klintworth
Alumni Improvising Through Covid-19
Over the last year , COVID-19 has impacted the people in many ways . Many activities are still shut down for safety reasons . Daniel Klintworth , a graduate of EFSC ( then BCC ), an Associate Conductor , working for the 2nd National Tour of “ The Book of Mormon ” musical does not know when they will be able to perform again .
Daniel and his fellow theatre professionals did not let COVID-19 stop them from bringing the joy of musical theatre to people . They improvised and came up with the “ One Million Musicals ” podcast . This podcast produces a brand-new , fully formed musical each month that features many of the talents of the Broadway , TV and Film professionals involved . Not only are they producing monthly musicals , but they are also releasing weekly episodes which let the listeners experience the creative process that goes into creating such a piece and allows listeners to chat with the cast members .
Daniel is currently the Music Supervisor , where he oversees all musical aspects , from creating orchestrations to composing additional music , and even directing the singer ’ s performance over Zoom ! Even though it has been challenging to find new ways to create art , Daniel said he is “ very grateful for the podcast and all the joy it ’ s bringing to folks .”
While enrolled at EFSC ( then BCC ), Daniel was able to focus on his classes , two of his favorites Concert Band and Voice . His time though at BCC was not always homework and classwork . “ I think my favorite memory was sitting in the cafeteria of the Cocoa campus and eating lunch with my classmates / friends . To this day still the best tuna fish sandwich I ’ ve ever had !”
Daniel enjoyed being able to take courses close to home and being able to obtain a degree , Associates in Arts , that would help him with his future : “ I always felt like they had my best interest in mind and I truly appreciated the time they took to make sure that the students were understanding the material and that they were prepared for what would come beyond the four walls of the classroom . I know that the education I received there played a big part in my success in the music profession and I am grateful beyond words to this day .”
