FROM FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP

LETTER FROM BOARD CHAIR , MOSES HARVIN , II
For over five years , I have been excited to be associated with Eastern Florida State College serving on the Foundation Board . I am honored to serve this year as Chair of the Board .
You may ask yourself why . Here are four reasons :
• EFSC serves our community with four locations – Melbourne , Palm Bay , Titusville and Cocoa .
• The cost of tuition has remained the same for the past ten years , making college possible for many .
• The college has educated more than 500,000 students in more than 61 years .
• In the past five years alone , the EFSC Foundation has awarded more than $ 3 million in scholarships .
For these reasons , I am extremely proud to be associated with Eastern Florida State College .
As a long-term resident of Brevard County , and a community volunteer , I have been impressed by the way the College continues to adapt itself to meet the educational needs of our community . It has created new career programs , while expanding others to prepare students for careers , helping them to improve workforce skills that meet the demands of our community ’ s employers .
The addition of the many Bachelor Degree programs has added a dimension of choice for those who want to stay local and continue their education .
As this year ’ s EFSC Foundation Board Chair , it is an honor to share with you the results of the Foundation ’ s exceptional performance as described in this annual report .
EFSC EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS : TONYA CHERRY AND CINDY KANE Dear Alumni and Friends of the EFSC Foundation ,
The year 2020 was an uncommonly difficult year with challenges never seen before . Of utmost importance to college leadership was the safety and health of our students , faculty and staff . For us , raising money to support our students with scholarships during a time of financial turmoil was more important than ever . With your generous support and understanding , we were able to successfully navigate the pandemic .
As you will see in this report , we did not break fundraising records , but we were true to our promise to be good stewards of your donations . We were still able to assist more than 700 students through scholarships awarded . Additionally , we were successful with a new appeal that lead to the creation of a scholarship for frontline workers . That campaign led to the development of positive relationships with 140 new donors .
This annual report reflects that performance and we encourage you to review it and be proud . We simply could not achieved what we have without YOU .
We remain humbled by your support and friendship .
