OUR
Vision
Dear Foundation Supporters:
There is no better way to describe a college education than to say generations of Americans
have seen it as a pillar of the American Dream.
Maximizing donor resources to build futures, transform lives, and promote
academic excellence.
OUR
With it comes a path to good careers, solid citizenship and better lives.
It also resonates in profound ways for the children of college graduates, and their
grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well.
Knowledge is among the most precious gifts we have in life, and passing on the value of
gaining knowledge to those who come after us is precious as well.
Mission
That is why the work of the Eastern Florida State College Foundation is so important, and
why your support for its efforts are central to its success.
The scholarships the Foundation provides are critical in keeping a college education within
reach for many students. In fact, some students receiving scholarships may not qualify for
other financial aid.
The Foundation’s role is among the reasons that Eastern Florida is one of the most affordable colleges in our state
and nation. We are proud of that accomplishment and grateful for the part you play in making it happen.
The EFSC Foundation
cultivates donor and
alumni relations to
secure the resources
required to support
scholarships and
initiatives to further
the college mission.
Thank you again for your support and the gift of opportunity you are giving to our students.
Sincerely,
DR. JIM RICHEY, PRESIDENT, EASTERN FLORIDA STATE COLLEGE
KNOWLEDGE IS AMONG THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFTS WE HAVE IN LIFE,
AND PASSING ON THE VALUE OF GAINING KNOWLEDGE TO THOSE
WHO COME AFTER US IS PRECIOUS AS WELL.
Dr. Jim Richey
Dear EFSC Friends:
I am excited to write to you about our accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.
OUR
Values - EDUCATE
Scholarship recipient, Carina
E XCELLENCE: To contribute outstanding service to benefit the College
D IVERSITY: To include and recognize all the demographics in our community
U NITE: To work together for a common purpose
C REATIVITY: To generate solutions outside the normal channels
A MBITION: To achieve a desired common goal
T RANSPARENCY: To operate with the utmost integrity
E THICS: To perform with virtuous behaviors, ideals, and principles!
The EFSC Foundation’s Board of Directors agreed to increase the number of scholarship recipients 25%, which
meant we needed to increase funding to provide more scholarships. I am thrilled to report
that we surpassed the goal, increasing scholarship awards 40%.
Thank you to everyone who made it happen: donors, alumni, faculty, staff, corporations,
businesses and other EFSC friends. Our vision is realized through your generous support.
Lives are transformed, futures are hopeful and academic excellence prevails. The students
who benefit from the scholarships leave the college with the expertise and ability to join our
workforce, which strengthens our community and local economy.
Scholarship recipient Carina Rodriguez said “If I had not received a scholarship, I would
have not been able to continue my education.” Carina graduated with high honors and will
pursue a degree in Biological and Medical Sciences at UCF with the dream of attending
medical school.
YOUR donation may be the difference between someone completing their education or
dropping out of school.
If you live in Brevard County, you have been touched by an EFSC graduate: a dental hygienist, nurse, computer or
engineering technician, EMT, firefighter, police officer, cosmetologist, sonographer, HVAC technician and more.
When you give to the EFSC Foundation, your support is making a lasting impact on our students and community.
Thank you for helping Titans Rise!
With a grateful heart,
JENNIE KRIETE, DIRECTOR, EFSC FOUNDATION
