April 2019 College Accomplishments • Students in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade from 13 of the 15 public high schools can split time between their high school and any EFSC campus. • The program can be completed with little to no cost to the student. The high schools also provide all required textbooks. • To enter, students need an unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.0, and college-ready reading and writing scores. A college ready mathematics score is required by the time they reach 12th grade. • The program attracts a diverse student population and includes students who are low income, minority, and students with disabilities. • Dual enrollment increased 5 percent from 2014-19 to 3,779 students. • During the same time, the proportion of those in the Collegiate High program has increased from 34.1 percent to 42.9 percent. • The proportion of minority students participating has increased from 33.2 percent to 37.7 percent. • Completion rates remained high, increasing to 68.4 percent for the group that completed high school in 2018-19. • The graduation rate for minority students in the program increased to 74.6 percent in 2018-19. Best Online Degrees EFSC placed two of its online degrees – one Associate in Science and one Bachelor - in the top national ranks, according to online education surveys. (Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Financial Management) 8 2019 College Accomplishments • The two degrees are an Associate in Science Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology. • The Associate Degree was named among the Top 20 online two- year business degrees by Business Management Degree.net. • The findings were based on information from the National Center for Education Statistics. • Key areas reviewed included how coursework seeks to develop students’ interpersonal and communication skills, project planning techniques, and business ethics. • The report stated “all these skills are essential for landing entry- level business jobs and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in the same discipline.” • The Bachelor Degree was named among the Top 25 most affordable by TheBestSchools.Org. • The findings were based on information from the National Center for Education Statistics. • They considered the quality of the program, types of online information technology classes offered, faculty, rankings, awards and reputation.
