More Security Enhancements
The Office of College-Wide Security continued enhancing
its operations to ensure the protection of everyone on all
four campuses. (Employee Relations, Trustee Relations,
Community Awareness)
• More than 100 officers now comprise the Security Force
with over 50 armed officers on four campuses.
• There are high hiring standards with all officers being current
Law Enforcement Officers or having a Class D License from
the Florida Department of Agriculture.
• Armed officers undergo continuous active shooter training,
intermediate tactical shooting classes and open range
practice days.
• EFSC was the first college in Central Florida used by the
Florida Department of Law Enforcement to provide active
shooter training classes for regional law enforcement
training officers.
• The College now offers and conducts frequent active
shooting training for all of Brevard County’s Law
Enforcement officers.
• Implemented a more comprehensive report writing system
to better document all College incidents.
• Acquired an updated fleet of golf carts to improve overall
Security functions.
• Installed additional cameras on all four campuses for
improved surveillance and safety.
• Implemented Lead Officer Positions on all campuses for
increased supervisory-level staffing.
• Additional active shooter training sessions were conducted
for faculty and staff, with more than 80 held the past four
years.
