Information Tech Accomplishments Successful Media Relations
Made major improvements to key college-wide
systems throughout the year to improve the software,
equipment and platforms that comprise the vital
digital infrastructure that keeps EFSC running. (Student
Enrollment, Financial Management, Employee
Relations) Placed nearly 700 stories on EFSC news and events
in Brevard County and Central Florida media outlets
throughout the year, elevating the college’s reputation
and brand. (Public Awareness, Community Relations.)
Information Technology Highlights:
• Brought the new Health Sciences Institute online
in a major undertaking that included installing
technology for 10 training labs, 19 multimedia
rooms, 33 wireless access points, 830 data
connection points and 200 new computers.
• Teams worked around-the-clock for 10 days to
protect college systems in advance of Hurricane
Irma, and then checked all systems to ensure they
were up and running after the storm.
• Doubled the bandwidth of the college’s Wi-Fi
system, providing more and faster access for
students on all four campuses.
• Upgraded the college’s email system, improving
4,000 email accounts in a project that required
more than 200 hours of work.
• Installed stronger security software for 4,000
desktop computers used across the college to
safeguard systems and information.
• Upgraded Banner, which is the college’s main
internal management system, improving
operations for such key areas as Registration,
Financial Aid and Finance.
• Upgraded software to allow faculty better access
and interaction in their online classes with
students with disabilities.

• Digital and print outlets included Florida Today
and floridatoday.com, spacecoastdaily.com,
Space Coast Business magazine, Space Coast
Living magazine, Orlando Sentinel, Hometown
News and Everything Brevard.
• T V outlets included Orlando stations Channel 2,
Channel 6, Channel 9, Fox News and News Channel
13.
• Coverage of EFSC sports programs appeared in
news outlets throughout Florida and the U.S.
thanks to a strong performance by many of our
teams and the college’s leading role in the NJCAA.
• Broadcast and livestreamed more than 30 EFSC
athletic events to audiences across Brevard and
Central Florida, while also reaching viewers across
the U.S. and internationally.
