Growing Manufacturing Jobs
Partnership with the Economic Development Commission of Florida’ s Space Coast resulted in upswing in the local manufacturing workforce thanks to college’ s 10-week Certified Production Technician course.( Student Enrollment, Financial Management, Trustee Relations, Community Awareness)
Manufacturing Highlights:
• The pilot program’ s goal is to build baselinemanufacturing skills to confront the Space Coast’ s manufacturing workforce skills gap.
• Through the successful initiative, 95 percent of EFSC course graduates have been interviewed by one or more manufacturers and 80 percent have been placed in a manufacturing job.
• EFSC placed second in Florida on the Manufacturing and Logistics Certification Index, positioning itself as a leader in providing skilled workers to the manufacturing industry.
Website, Social Media Success
Made a number of key improvements to the college’ s Website and Social Media platforms to provide academic and college-wide information, and serve as a main marketing tool for student recruiting and retention efforts.( Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Employee Relations, Community Awareness)
Website, Social Media Highlights:
• Updated more than 1,900 website pages and built new sections for such important areas as all new Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree, and Certificate programs launched in 2017, Student Recruitment Office and the EFSC Foundation.
• Helped create Online New Student Orientation System, a major advance to prepare students for life at EFSC and provide real-time updates to ensure new students are reviewing the most current advising, academic support and security information.
• Revamped Student Advising section in another important upgrade to better serve the advising team and prospective and current students.
• Implemented a new college-wide Events Calendar system, which dramatically improves the ability to promote attendance at events and shares key academic deadlines in a more visually pleasing, mobile-friendly format.
• Increased support for online marketing campaigns for student recruitment, including custom landing pages to drive prospective students to register at EFSC.
• Enhanced the tracking of EFSC online advertising campaigns for student recruitment through Google Analytics, giving us better insight into the relationships between online and social media based advertising and new student enrollment.
• Provided more than 50 around-the-clock Website and Social Media alerts on a range of issues, including Hurricane Irma, power outages and other campus emergencies.
• Published more than 115 news releases and feature stories on the Website and Social Media, promoting the college’ s accomplishments and successes.
• Continued growing followers on all Social Media platforms with a dramatic increase on Twitter, climbing 36.5 percent over 10 months.
• Facebook also grew, with monthly engagement averaging more than 3,700 followers and post shares reaching more than 48,500 people.
• The Social Media platforms are central to our strategy to reach larger audiences of current and prospective students, and the college supporters and stakeholders in the community.
