Gold Performance Rating
College received a prestigious Gold Performance Rating – the first in its history – from the Florida Board of Education for its work to achieve student success, solidifying its reputation as among the leading higher education institutions in Florida.( Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Employee Relations, Financial Management, Trustee Relations, Community Awareness)
Gold Highlights:
• EFSC is one of only seven colleges in the Florida College System to gain the gold distinction, ranking third overall.
• State officials said the college earned high performance grades in four key areas:
• Student retention rates, with 67 percent of its students remaining enrolled.
• Student completion rates, with 67.5 percent of its students graduating on time.
• Students attaining jobs after graduation or continuing their education, with 94.3 percent gaining employment or pursing additional studies.
• Wages for graduates in entry-level jobs, with 92.7 percent earning above the average salary locally for entry-level jobs compared to noncollege graduates.
• The rating was also built upon a number of areas where the college has strengthened student services and resources in recent years.
• Small class sizes allow instructors to give students personalized attention, tutoring programs to keep them on track and classes on campus and online that allow students to tailor their courses to their needs.
• Financial aid, academic and career advisors who are ensuring students receive financial assistance to stay in school, take the right courses and select the career that is best for them.
• Not raising tuition for six straight years and its focus on creating 40 new programs in fields with fast job growth is giving students in-demand skills for the job market.
• The Gold Rating also earned the college nearly $ 3 million in Performance Based Funding.
Civil Rights Review
EFSC received praise from the Florida Office of Civil Rights in a compliance review that examined all areas of the college, finding no concerns with equity and diversity processes.( Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Employee Relations, Trustee Relations, Community Awareness)
Review Highlights:
• Review called“ excellent” by Madeline Pumariega, Chancellor of the Florida College System.
• Civil Rights Review Team members offered these comments following their weeklong examination of the college:
• Eastern Florida State College is one of the best Colleges that we have audited.
• It’ s clear the students feel comfortable and respected by administration.
• Kudos for customer service over in the student services area; and widespread staff commitment to student success.
• We have heard nothing but good things regarding Eastern Florida State.
National Leader in Affordability
Annual U. S. Department of Education review showed EFSC a national leader in keeping tuition low and higher education affordable in 2017.( Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Financial Management, Trustee Relations, Community Awareness)
Tuition Highlights:
• EFSC ranked 18th nationally in lowest tuition among all public colleges and universities.
• EFSC ranked 3rd lowest in tuition among all public colleges and universities in in Florida.
• EFSC ranked 38th lowest nationally in net prices among all public colleges and universities.
• EFSC ranked 10th lowest in Florida in net prices among all public colleges and universities.
