Children acquire language in two ways in particular: when they are
spoken to, and when they are read to. A child’s first acquaintance
with stories and books is through his parents, and it is never too early
to begin. Foster a love and appreciation for stories and books as a
source of knowledge and pleasure in your child from a young age. He
will become naturally eager to learn to read. Books play a defining
role in the four main areas of development.
