STUDENT SUCCESS
Jacqui is a 2016 GMercyU graduate who majored in Education.
While at GMercyU, Jacqui:
• Participated in eight semesters of classroom observations
beginning her freshman year thanks to the TAP Program
• Served as the president of the Special Education Club for
her sophomore and junior year, and was responsible for
facilitating the Alex Valeno Exceptional Persons 5K
• Was honored in junior year with the George O’Neill
Memorial Scholarship presented by the Council for
Exceptional Children (CEC) in Harrisburg, Pa.
• When Jacqui graduated in 2016, she was chosen for the
Outstanding Leadership Award and the Outstanding Student
Teacher Award
TODAY: Jacqui currently is a Fifth Grade Teacher at Blue
Bell Elementary School. She was also recently recognized
as a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert, an honor
reserved for self-driven and passionate teachers who inspire
their students and the world with creative thinking and
collaborative spirit.
STUDENT SUCCESS
Joan’na Pray, a graduate of GMercyU’s Class of 2018, was
thoroughly impressed by our education curriculum. During her
time here, Joan’na:
• Took part in GMercyU’s Student Government Association
(SGA)
• Benefitted from the wide variety of educational courses
offered, as opposed to the more stringent curriculum at her
previous school
• Earned a student teaching position at St. Malachy’s, a
Catholic school in her own Philadelphia neighborhood
TODAY: Joan’na currently works as a Kindergarten Teacher at
St. Malachy’s, where she completed her student teaching while
at GMercyU.
