Lagoon Quest: In many respects, the Indian River Lagoon is the heart of Brevard County, and we believe providing local children a personal, hands-on connection with this precious natural resource is vital to its continued protection. Since 2005, our staff and volunteers have provided such an experience to more than 50,000 local fourth graders through Lagoon Quest. Participants use scientific tools to evaluate water quality, measure wind speed and capture specimens for observation. Their findings are shared with a global citizen science database. Lagoon Quest is considered a highlight of the school year by students, parents and teachers alike. 20
